Still on the hunt for that perfect summer read? Some of your favorite Carina Press authors have great recommendations! No matter what genre you’re into, you’ll find the perfect book for you below.
A book on my list this summer is No Stone Unturned by Julie Moffett. This is Julie’s 11th book in the Lexi Carmichael Mystery Series. This series is wonderfully written with just the right amount of geekiness, humor and death. If you’re looking for adventurous fun, these books are for you. I’ve enjoyed all the books in the series and think they are the perfect fun summer reads!
Summer nights are special to me. There’s a magic in catching up with friends outside in the cooler evening after a hot day, and I reach for books that give me that same glow. With true-to-life diversity, kind-hearted heroes and vibrant writing that pops right off the page, Adriana Herrera’s American Dreamer welcomes you in like the warmest hug. The beautiful, happy books in this series are a must-have in my summer TBR.
I’m very excited to read Felicia Grossman’s American historical Dalliances & Devotion, out from Carina on August 26th, about a twice-married beauty columnist whose life is threatened while she travels to claim her inheritance under the protection of her bodyguard and former love interest, a Pinkerton detective.
Summer is the best time to sit back and escape to another time, and I always adore a scandalous, irrepressible heroine. (The cover has her peeking rather saucily at the reader from within the hero’s embrace.) I can’t wait to plunge into the world of this story.
When summer rolls around and I’m curled up in my Adirondack chair at camp, there’s nothing better than losing myself in a romantic novel that also gives me a meaty mystery to solve, and Her Other Secret by HelenKay Dimon perfectly fits the bill. Whitaker Island is teeming with juicy secrets, fun banter and steamy romance, along with Dimon’s strong characters. It’s the perfect book to curl up with in the shade on a hot summer day.
One of the first books I intend to pick up and dive into this summer is Check, Please! Volume 1 by Ngozi Ukazu. I’m a sucker for graphic novels and NA plotlines, and this book has been recommended to me by so many people—I’m long past due to give it a try. Hopefully staring at illustrations of a hockey rink will help beat the summer heat, too!
Reese Ryan’s Harlequin Desire books have electricity and emotion, a combination I love. I can’t wait to read her upcoming release, Off Limits Lovers. It’s a forbidden romance between the children of feuding families. They both know it’s wrong, but the temptation is too strong to resist. I know it will deliver on everything I need this summer!
I’m desperately excited for Ruby Lang’s Playing House, which comes out August 12th! It involves my favorite trope, fake relationships, AND looking at gorgeous real estate (the HGTV addict in me is over the moon for that). Fay and Oliver are each moving on from a life hiccup and I cannot wait to read their HEA.
